HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - September 5, 2001 E-04AGENDA TITLE: Approve Plans and Specifications and Authorize Advertisement for Bids to Construct a Wash Bay at the Lodi Unified School District Site, 820 South Cluff Avenue MEETING DATE: September 5, 2001 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the plans and specifications for the above project and authorize advertising for bids. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project is a joint effort between the City of Lodi and the Lodi Unified School District (LUSD). The City of Lodi and LUSD will share the construction costs. The City of Lodi has already purchased the equipment for the wash bay, and LUSD will be responsible for operating costs over the next ten years. All City of Lodi vehicles will be able to utilize the automatic wash system at the LUSD site at no additional cost to the City. On June 21, 2000, City Council approved the purchase of the wash bay system. On November 15, 2000, City Council approved a joint -use agreement with LUSD, and the design agreement with Booker, Gary, Hickman and Associates. The plans and specifications are on file in the Public Works Department. FUNDING: The money for this project will be coming from the Federal Transit Administration Fund and LUSD. LUSD has committed $180,000 for construction. A request for appropriation of funds will be made at contract award.
