Improvements to the National Guard Armory Facility, 333 N. Washington Street

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the above project and authorize advertising
of bids.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: In May of this year, the City entered into a one-year use permit
agreement with the National Guard Armory for use of all common
areas within their facility with the intent of negotiationg a five-year
lease of the property within one year.
The Parks Division staff contracted with Scott Dasko, a local architect, to evaluate the facility.
Improvements include restroom upgrades, ceiling renovation, and gym floor improvements. The project
also includes creating two handicap parking stalls and improvements to sidewalk cement at the front
entrance.
Plans and specifications are available for review in the Public Works Department.
FUNDING: Engineer's estimate: $85,630
Community Development Block Grants: $50,000
Contingency Funds: $35,630
