AGENDA TITLE: Adopt resolution naming the completed electric vehicle charging station located at the
Municipal Service Center, `The Jim Porter Memorial Solar Port & Electric Vehicle Charging
Station' (EUD)

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution naming the recently completed
electric vehicle charging station located at the Municipal Service Center, `The
Jim Porter Memorial Solar Port & Electric Vehicle Charging Station.'
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Earlier this year, the Lodi City Council approved a Public Benefits Program
grant to fund construction of a solar port and electric vehicle charging station.
The facility is located at the Lodi Municipal Service Center, 1331 S. Ham
Lane, just adjacent to the Henning Electric Substation. The solar port
provides cover for six electric vehicles.
City of Lodi Electric Utility staff respectfully recommends naming the new facility after the late Jim Porter, a utility
service operator and popular colleague with the department for many years, who passed away in the fall of 1998.

RESOLUTION NO. 2001-175
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL NAMING THE
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION LOCATED AT THE
MUNICIPAL SERVICE CENTER THE "JIM PORTER
MEMORIAL SOLAR PORT & ELECTRIC VEHICLE
CHARGING STATION"
WHEREAS, earlier this year the Lodi City Council approved a Public Benefits
Program Grant to fund construction of a solar port and electric vehicle charging station;
and
WHEREAS, the facility is located at the Lodi Municipal Service Center, 1331 S.
Ham Lane, just adjacent to the Henning Electric Substation; and
WHEREAS, the solar port provides cover for six electric vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lodi Electric Utility staff respectfully recommends naming
the new facility after the late Jim Porter, a utility service operator and popular colleague

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lodi City Council does hereby
name the solar port and electric vehicle charging station the "Jim Porter Memorial
Solar Port & Electric Vehicle Charging Station."
