team .
2) Uncover concerns and conflicts between/among members.
3) Express expectations: between department heads; between department
heads and City Manager.
4) Learn about techniques of effective teamwork; working relationships and
"building a contract";
5) Apply rules of conflict resolution for future disagreements;
6) Focus on opportunities for innovation and improvement, and inherent
barriers;
7) Working toward a management philosophy;

Sites were evaluated in locations including a Jesuit Retreat House and other conference
facilities in Yuba City, Napa, Concord, and Modesto. The site selected for the retreat was
Asilomar Conference Center, located in Pacific Grove. In addition to a pleasant location,
Asilomar is a unit of the California State Park System and is a non-profit organization. For
these reasons, Asilomar's rates were the lowest quote that we received. The cost per person,
including meals is $75.00 per day. This cost includes the use of meeting rooms.
COST: $11,000 Consulting Fees
3,000 Accommodations
$14,000
FUNDING: Contingent Fund
