BACKGROUND INFORMATION: In the 1995/97 Financial Plan and Budget document, City Council approved the purchase of an automated registration program for the Parks and Recreation Department. Phase I of this project includes the purchase of a network server and five workstations to upgrade and facilitate staff to accomplish the automation requirements. Phase II will consist of installing the network cable and phase III will consist of the actual automation software purchase. Staff plans to solicit bids for the Netserver, with installed software, from authorized Hewlett-Packard dealers; for the workstations from suppliers as determined by the Manufacturer Qualification standards, and will recommend purchase of additional software licenses off the State of California contract with Valcom Computers of Irvine.
