That the Business Tax be waived, in part, for vendors who do not have a Business License and who will participate at the "Lodi Pet Fair" sponsored by the Animal Friends Connection and Animal Friends Humane Society on for June 18, 1995 at the Lodi Festival Grounds. 2.) That the fee be set at $3.75 per vendor per day. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Ordinance 1607 Business Tax Certification, Section 3.01.030. Exemptions, paragraph H. Street Fairs and Special Events, permit sponsors of street fairs or special events to request the City Council waive the Business License Tax in part or whole for participants of a street fair or special event when the waiver is for a limited period of time and a participant does not otherwise conduct business within the City of Lodi ..............: and, when the City Council determines a blanket waiver of the Business License Tax for a street fair or special event is in the best interest of the City. This is the 2nd Pet Fair sponsored by the Animal Friends Connection and the Animal Friends Humane Society, non-profit organizations dedicated to charitable and educational purposes. Many of the vendors and veterinarians who are participating in the event are either donating their profits to the Humane Society or will be giving out free product samples. Approximately six individual vendor will realize personal profit. The Business License Tax for individual vendors of retail products is $50.00. TWO: This corporation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the public gain of any person. It is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purpose. The specific purpose for which this corporation is organized is the development and implementation of a humane society.
