HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - June 7, 1995 (74)oF$ CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION cq<► a+P AGENDA TITLE: Contract Award for Almond Drive Street Improvements, Stockton Street to Cherokee Lane ($103,379) MEETING DATE: June 7, 1995 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution awarding the contract for the above project to George Reed Inc. in the amount of $103,379.00. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project consists of reconstructing approximately 21,000 square feet of asphalt concrete pavement, overlaying approximately 77,000 square feet of street with asphalt concrete and pavement fabric, and other incidental and related work, all as shown on the plans and specifications for the above project. The west 800 feet of Almond Drive (between Stockton Street and Songbird Place) will be closed for approximately two weeks while the contractor installs underground utilities and reconstructs the street. This project was one of the approved Pavement Rehabilitation Projects in the Street Capital Improvement Program. Included in the project are utility service stubs for planned development on both sides of Almond Drive. Upon completion of the work and determination of final costs, a reimbursement agreement will be prepared for Council approval. PETERSON recycled paper City Manager CC -1 CAWARD.DOC 05/30/95 RESOLUTION NO. 95-69 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR ALMOND DRIVE STREET IMPROVEMENTS, STOCKTON STREET TO CHEROKEE LANE WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council sealed bids were received and publicly opened on May 24, 1995 at 11:00 a.m. for the bid for Almond Drive Street Improvements, Stockton Street to Cherokee Lane, described in the specifications; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows: Bidde Location BB Engineer's Estimate $136,970.00 George Reed, Inc. Stockton $154,446.00 WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends award of the Bid for Almond Drive Street Improvements, Stockton Street to Cherokee Lane, be made to the low bidder, George Reed, Inc. of Lodi, CA; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that the award of the Bid for Almond Drive Street Improvements, Stockton Street to Cherokee Lane, be and the same is hereby awarded to George Reed, Inc. of Lodi, California, the low bidder, in the amount of $103,379.00.
