Dear Mayor,
On April 27, 1995, the Northern California Good Sam
Association will hold its 1995 Samboree in your city at
the Grape Festival Grounds. As a matter of fact, it will be
held there for the next three years. The Association is a
club made up of 121 RV Chapters throughout Northern
California. Our area ranges from King City in the south to
the Oregon border. Since this is a yearly event and a time
for old friends to gather, we look forward to approximately
800 Recreational Vehicles attending. This three day event
consists of commercial displays, seminars, food, entertain-
ment and a lot of sightseeing in the local areas. I would
like to take this oppurtunity to welcome you and any of
your staff to our opening ceremonies on Friday, April 28th
at 7:00pm. I plan to publicize this event in your local
paper because we open the gates to the public for awhile
on Saturday. We will be featuring three local Jazz bands
for entertainment and I am trying to get an ROTC unit from
a local high school to present the colors on Friday night.
I would assume that there is such a unit in your high school.
I might solicit your help on this. The Lodi area is a popular
one with our membership because of the variety of things to
do and places to see. Lodi also provides the atmosphere of
a safe haven for the membership and the festival grounds
staff is going allout to provide just that forus. We not only
leave with fond memories but we also pump a lot into the Lodi
economy.I will prove this to you after our event. We have the
members turn in their daily receipts and we draw for a prize
nightly. Would some of the local merchants be willing to
donate some prizes for this occasion. My staff adn I have
been working with Mark and Eileen at the Festival Grounds for
sometime and we look forward to this event with a lot of
anticipation. As the new State Director, this is my first
and we want to go all out to make it happen. Any ideas on
your behalf would be greatly appreciated.

Friday night and the Inkspots will be our headliners on
Saturday night. These evening performances are open only to
the membership. We look forward to working with you and hope
that you can find the time to come and share our opening
ceremonies.
