HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - January 18, 1995 (84)of CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Plans and Specifications and Advertisement for Bids for Water Well No. 1 Abandonment, 230 112 East Lodi Avenue MEETING DATE: January 18, 1995 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the plans and specifications for the above project and authorize advertising for bids. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project will abandon water Well No. 1 located in the alley south of Lodi Avenue, between Stockton Street and Washington Street. Well No. 1 has had problems with sand pumping and water contamination and has been out of service since Spring 1990. A sand separator was installed at the site to catch the sand but the site is too small to set up any effective contamination removal system to remove the water contamination. The abandonment will include grouting the water well with concrete mix, removing any aboveground and underground utilities at the site, removing the chain link fence, removing the existing concrete pad, and leveling the ground with imported top soil. Upon the abandonment, the site will be offered to the existing owner of the immediate adjacent lot, 230 East Lodi Avenue (see attachment), for mutually agreeable terms. FUNDING: Originally Budgeted:.
