AGENDA TITLE: Purchase of Luminaires for Eastside Alley Lighting Project
($11,868.66)

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution awarding the
bid for the purchase of 175 high-pressure sodium luminaires to the
low bidder, American Electric (through manufacturer's represent-
atives Davis, Gregory & Doll Company of Emeryville) in the amount of $11,868.66.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On November 2, 1994, the City Council authorized advertisement
for bids for the Eastside Alley Lighting Project. The following
bids for luminaires were received and opened on December 20,
1994:

Western States Electric Co., Portland, OR

G. E. Supply Co., Sacramento

Herning Underground Supply, Hayward
$27,099.12
Delivery of luminaires is expected in about eight weeks.

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AWARDING THE BID FOR PURCHASE OF LUNINAIRSS FOR
EASTSIDE ALLEY LIGHTING PROJECT
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with
law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and
publicly opened on December 20, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. for the bid for the
Purchase of Luminaires for Eastside Alley Lighting Project, described
in the specifications therefore approved by the City Council on
November 2, 1994; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and
a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows:

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that award of the bid for
the Purchase of Luminaires for Eastside Alley Lighting Project be made
to the lowest bidder, American Electric (DG & D Co., Emeryville, CA);
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that
award of bid for the Purchase of Luminaires for Eastside Alley Lighting
Project, be and the same is hereby awarded to American Electric (DG & D
Co., Emeryville, CA), the lowest bidder, in the amount of $11,868.66.

I hereby certify that Resolution No. 95-01 was passed and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Lodi in a regular meeting held
January 4, 1995, by the following vote:
