HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - May 16, 2001 E-09AGENDA TITLE: Accept Improvements Under Contract for Elm Street Parking Lot, 11, 15, and 17 West Elm Street MEETING DATE: May 16, 2001 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the "Elm Street Parking Lot Project, 11, 15, and 17 West Elm Street" contract. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to A. M. Stephens Construction Company, Inc., of Lodi, on November 15, 2000, in the amount of $133,082.50. The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications approved by the City Council. The contract completion date was May 1, 2001, and the actual completion date was May 1, 2001. The final contract price was $160,397.11. The difference between the contract amount and the final contract price is mainly due to contract change orders which paid A. M. Stephens Construction Company to remove an underground fuel storage tank that was discovered in the parking lot and changes to the scheduling of the work which were intended to decrease the contract time and complete the parking lot on a faster schedule. Following acceptance by the City Council, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office. FUNDING: Budgeted Funds: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Fund $ 136,000 Electric Utility Distribution System Improvement Fund $ 15,000 Electric Utility Street Light Completion Project Fund $ 10,000 Contract Amount: $161,000 Richard C.
