HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - June 6, 2001 E-13AGENDA TITLE: Accept Improvements Under Contract for Beckman Road Reconstruction and Bike Lane Striping, 1,000 Feet South of Vine Street to 700 Feet North of Pine Street MEETING DATE: June 6, 2001 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the "Beckman Road Reconstruction and Bike Lane Striping, 1,000 Feet South of Vine Street to 700 Feet North of Pine Street" contract. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to Granite Construction, of Stockton, on August 2, 2000, in the amount of $915,287.40. The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications approved by the City Council. The contract completion date was December 21, 2001, and the actual completion date was December 21, 2001. The final contract price was $947,908.63. The difference between the contract amount and the final contract price is mainly due to adjustments in the quantities for curb, gutter and sidewalk; adjusting utilities to grade; and striping. Contract Change Order No. 2 also includes deducts in the contract for a revision in the fence work along the Beckman Road ditch and for insufficient compaction of portions of the asphalt concrete. Following acceptance by the City Council, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office. FUNDING: Budgeted Fund: Federal Funds (STIP) $ 408,670.00 State Funds (STP) $ 374,000.00 TDA $ 170,897.40 TOTAL $ 953,567.40 Contract Amount: $947,908.63 4 Richar C.
