HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - April 18, 2001 H-03cCITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Appointment Of Council Representatives To The Local Agency Formation Commission, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, And Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission MEETING DATE: April 15, 2001 PREPARED BY: City Clerk RECOMMENDED ACTION: That Council, by motion action, discuss and take appropriate action on the appointment of Council representatives to the Local Agency Formation Commission, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, and Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Clerk's office was notified by the Local Agency Formation Commission that in May 2001 the LAFCO City Selection Committee will meet to consider changing Lodi's "Alternate" member status to "Regular'. Therefore, it would be appropriate that Council Member Land (Lodi's current LAFCO Alternate member) be nominated as a Regular member to LAFCO. In addition, Council Member vacancies stili exist on both the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission. Following discussion among the City Council, it is requested that appointments be made to fill these two positions. HAYS City Attorney At the regular Lodi City Council Meeting of April 18, 2001 the City Council concurred with the Mayor's recommendation to nominate Council Member Keith Land for the position of Voting Member on the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO). He would be filling the position as a representative of the Lodi City Council through the term set to expire May 1, 2005. Therefore, please accept this letter as our official nomination for Council Member Land to be considered by LAFCO for the Voting Member position.
