HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - April 18, 2001 H-03aCITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDATITLE: Post For Expiring Terms/Vacancies On The Lodi Arts Commission, East Side Improvement Committee, Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, Library Board, Planning Commission, And The San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District MEETING DATE: April 18, 2001 PREPARED BY: City Clerk RECOMMENDED ACTION: That Council, by motion action, direct the City Clerk to post for the following expiring terms/vacancies on the Lodi Arts Commission, East Side Improvement Committee, Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, Library Board, Planning Commission, and the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: There are several terms expiring on the Lodi Arts Commission, East Side Improvement Committee, Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, Library Board, Planning Commission, and the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District. In addition, our office received the attached letters of resignation effective August 30, 2001 from five members of the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission. Therefore, it is recommended that the City Council direct the City Clerk to post for the expiring terms/vacancies shown below. State statute requires that the City Clerk post for vacancies to allow citizens interested in serving to submit an application. The City Council is requested to direct the City Clerk to make the necessary postings. The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m., at the Cottage Room at Hutchins Street Square. The Commission consists of 6 adult advisors, 1 City Council representative, and 9 student members.
