HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2023-221RESOLUTION NO. 2023-221 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LEASE WITH SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY FOR OFFICE SPACE WITHIN THE LODI POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, at its December 17, 2014 meeting, City Council approved a lease with San Joaquin County for office space within the Lodi Police Department building for the San Joaquin County District Attorney and administrative staff; and WHEREAS, the lease provided a reduced annual rent amount of $1.00 as the required tenant improvements to convert an existing storage room into office space was made by San Joaquin County at its own expense, and provided a $200 per month reimbursement from the County to the City for utilities and custodial services, with an expiration of January 6, 2024; and WHEREAS, San Joaquin County is requesting to execute a new lease with a term of five years with options to extend for three additional two-year terms. In addition to the annual $1.00 rent, the County will also pay the City $219 per month for utilities and custodial services, which will be recalculated at the end of each year term based on increased percentage for which the City's contracted custodial services are increased; and WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to execute a lease with San Joaquin County for office space within the Lodi Police Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to execute a lease with San Joaquin County for office space within the Lodi Police Department; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol Manual (adopted 11/6/19, Resolution No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
