HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2023-205RESOLUTION NO. 2023-205 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL RATIFYING EXPENDITURES TO DATE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE TWO-YEAR PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH FLOCK GROUP, INC., OF ATLANTA, GEORGIA, FOR EIGHT ADDITIONAL FLOCK AUTOMATED LICENSE PLATE READER CAMERAS AND ONE SQUARE MILE OF RAVEN SHOT -DETECTION SOFTWARE WHEREAS, in 2023, Lodi Police Department (LPD) entered into a two-year agreement with Flock Group, Inc., for ten Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras in the amount of $53,500; and WHEREAS, the Flock ALPR camera system captures date, time, location, license plate (state, partial, paper, and no plate), vehicle details (type and color), as well as objects (bicycle, animals, and people); and WHEREAS, the Flock Safety Gunshot Detection system, also known as "Raven," is a deployment of gunshot detection units placed strategically in the City to capture event information when someone discharges a firearm within the one -square -mile detection radius; and WHEREAS, the authorization of this contract amendment will allow the Police Department io expand on current technology to better serve our community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby ratify expenditures to date and authorize the City Manager to execute an amendment to the two-year purchase agreement for eight additional Flock ALPR cameras, and one -square -mile detection radius of Raven Shot -Detection software, from Flock Group, Inc., of Atlanta, Georgia, for a total contract not to exceed $170,000; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the first year contract fees and total hardware costs were included in the FY 2023/24 budget under Police Support Services — Misc. Professional Services — 10031004.72450; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol Manual (adopted 11/6/19, Resolution No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized lo make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
