HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2023-189RESOLUTION NO. 2023-189 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 4; AUTHORIZING ADDITIONAL CITY MANAGER CHANGE ORDER AUTHORITY; AND ALLOCATING ONE TIME FUNDS TO THE 2021-2023 TREE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT WITH WEST COAST ARBORISTS, INC., OF ANAHEIM, FOR LODI LAKE FIRE MITIGATION AND TREE MAINTENANCE WHEREAS, the Public Works Department manages an annual on-call contract that provides for structural pruning, maintenance trimming, stump grinding, emergency calls, removal of City trees, pest control, and tree planting at various locations throughout the City; and WHEREAS, on June 7, 2023, Council approved the Fiscal Year 2023/24 Budget, which included $200,000 for tree maintenance in Parks, and $350,000 for tree maintenance in Public Works allocated to the WCA Contract; and WHEREAS, on June 27, 2023, Council authorized $250,000 of the "One Time Funds" to be allocated towards the Lodi Lake Fire Mitigation — Tree Maintenance Project; and WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to execute Change Order No. 4; authorizing $50,000 of additional City Manager change order authority; and allocating $175,000 of the "One Time Funds" to the 2021-2023 Tree Maintenance contract with West Coast Arborists, Inc., of Anaheim, for Lodi Lake fire mitigation and tree maintenance; and WHEREAS, staff further recommends allocating $75,000 of the "One Time Funds" for San Joaquin Sheriff's Office Community Corps work ($50,000) and miscellaneous Lodi Lake general clean-up operations ($25,000). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to execute Change Order No. 4; authorize $50,000 of additional City Manager change order authority; and allocate $175,000 of the "One Time Funds" to the 2021-2023 Tree Maintenance contract with West Coast Arborists, Inc., of Anaheim, California, for Lodi Lake fire mitigation and tree maintenance; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby allocate $75,000 of t'ie "One Time Funds" for San Joaquin Sheriff's Office Community Corps work ($50,000) and miscellaneous Lodi Lake general clean-up operations ($25,000); and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol Manual (adopted 11/6/19, Resolution No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
