A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE CONTRACT
FOR THE LODI STATION PARKING GARAGE EMERGENCY LIGHTING
INVERTER REPLACEMENT PROJECT TO BOCKMON & WOODY ELECTRIC
COMPANY, OF STOCKTON; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE CHANGE ORDERS; AND FURTHER APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Lodi Station Parking Garage, located at 50 North Sacramento Street,
was constructed in 2002; and
WHEREAS, the existing emergency power backup system which provides electricity for
the interior parking garage lights has reached the end of its service life and currently is not able
to power those lights during power outage events, which could pose a dangerous condition for
the occupants; and
WHEREAS, the project consists of removing the existing emergency backup power
system, furnishing and installing a new power inverter system, and other related and incidental
work as shown on the plans and specifications for the project; and
WHEREAS, the City sent out the bid package to 11 contractors using the adopted
California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA) informal bidding process and
received the following two bids for this project on August 17, 2023:

WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the contract for the Lodi Station Parking
Garage Emergency Lighting Inverter Replacement Project to Bockmon & Woody Electric
Company, of Stockton, in the amount of $86,000, and authorizing the City Manager to execute
change orders, in an amount not to exceed $14,000; and
WHEREAS, staff further recommends appropriating funds in the amount of $20,000 to
the Prop 1 B State of Good Repair Fund (60599000.77020).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby award
the contract for the Lodi Station Parking Garage Emergency Lighting Inverter Replacement
Project to Bockmon & Woody Electric Company, of Stockton, California, in the amount of
$86,000; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the
City Manager to execute the contract and change orders in an amount not to exceed $14,000;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby appropriate funds
i -i the amount of $20,000 to the Prop 1 B State of Good Repair Fund (60599000.77020); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol
Manual (adopted 11/6/19, Resolution No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to
make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation
or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
