HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2023-186RESOLUTION NO. 2023-186 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE BIDDER FOR LINCOLN AVENUE STORM PUMP STATION REHABILITATION AND EXECUTE CHANGE ORDERS; AND FURTHER APPROPRIATING FUNDS WHEREAS, built in 1969, the Lincoln Avenue Pump Station was designed to lift storm water captured within the Outfall 9 Boundary and discharge into the Mokelumne River when the river is running too high to discharge by gravity; and WHEREAS, its single pump and control panel is beyond its useful life, antiquated and needs replacement to comply with current industry standards; and WHEREAS, this project consists of rehabilitation of the storm drain pump station, including replacement of the pump, pump motor, and pump control panel; rehabilitation of the force main and wet well; all necessary wiring of pump station system components; and other incidental and related work, all as shown on the specifications for the above project. The new pump motor control panel will regulate voltage, provide better pump efficiency, and comply with current electrical standards; and WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to award a contract to the lowest responsive bidder for Lincoln Avenue Storm Pump Station Rehabilitation in an amount not to exceed $350,000, and execute change orders in an amount not to exceed $50,000; and WHEREAS, staff further recommends appropriating funds in the amount of $325,000 to the Wastewater Capital PWWW-21003 (53199000.77020). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to award a contract to the lowest responsive bidder for Lincoln Avenue Storm Pump Station Rehabilitation in an amount not to exceed $350,000 and execute change orders in an amount not to exceed $50,000; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby appropriate funds in the amount of $325,000 to the Wastewater Capital PWWW-21003 (53199000.77020); and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol Manual (adopted 11/6/19, Resolution No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
