HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2023-171RESOLUTION NO. 2023-171 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH USALCO, OF BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, FOR SURFACE WATER TREATMENT FACILITY CHEMICAL SUPPLY; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE EXTENSIONS WHEREAS, the Surface Water Treatment Facility (SWTF) requires various chemicals throughout the treatment process to produce potable water, and one of those chemicals is Aluminum Chlorohydrate (ACH); and WHEREAS, USALCO has supplied the City with ACH since 2012 when the Surface Water Treatment Plant was commissioned; and WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement with USALCO, of Baltimore, Maryland, for Surface Water Treatment Facility chemical supply, in the amount of $225,000; and WHEREAS, staff further recommends authorizing the Public Works Director to negotiate and execute the extensions, should that be in the best interest of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement with USALCO, of Baltimore, Maryland, for Surface Water Treatment Facility chemical supply, in the amount of $225,000, for the term of five years; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the Public Works Director to negotiate and execute extensions, should that be in the best interest of the City; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol Manual (adopted 11/6/19, Resolution No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
