HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2023-157RESOLUTION NO. 2023-157 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDERS FOR LODI STATION PARKING GARAGE REPAIR PROJECT; AND FURTHER APPROPRIATING FUNDS WHEREAS, in June 2022, a vehicle hit the concrete wall barrier on the third floor of the parking structure and caused extensive damage to the barrier and the concrete floor; and WHEREAS, this project includes the replacement of the damaged concrete parking barrier, reset of the post -tension steel cable; and other incidental and related work as shown on the plans and specifications of the project; and WHEREAS, specifications for this project were approved on December 21, 2022. The project was awarded to TPA Construction, Inc., of Roseville on March 1, 2023, in the amount of $72,000, and Council authorized the City Manager to execute change orders in an amount not to exceed $20,000; and WHEREAS, recently, a car hit a concrete masonry short wall on the first floor of the garage, which caused new damage to the facility; and WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to execute additional change orders, in an amount not to exceed $20,000; and WHEREAS, staff further recommends appropriating funds in the amount of $20,000 to the Transportation Development Act Funds PWTR-22003 (60199000.77020). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to execute additional change orders, in an amount not to exceed $20,000, to repair the damage to the concrete masonry short wall on the first floor of the Lodi Station Parking Garage; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby appropriate funds in the amount of $20,000 to the Transportation Development Act Funds PWTR-22003 (60199000.77020); and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol Manual (adopted 11/6/19, Resolution No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
