HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2023-128AMENDED RESOLUTION NO. 2023-128 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE LOWER SACRAMENTO ROAD RESURFACING PROJECT TO DSS COMPANY, DBA KNIFE RIVER CONSTRUCTION, OF STOCKTON; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDERS; AND FURTHER APPROPRIATING FUNDS WHEREAS, this project includes localized pavement repair, resurfacing of the pavement, and replacing the traffic striping within the project limits of Lower Sacramento Road from Kettleman Lane to Turner Road; and WHEREAS, plans and specifications for this project were approved on April 19, 2023. On May 10, 2023, the City received the following five responsive bids: Above/(Below) Bidder Knife River George Reed All American Construction United Pavement Maintenance B&M Builders Location Bid Estimate Stockton $ 1,479,835 $ (835,865) Modesto $ 1,574,350 $ (741,350) Live Oak $ 1,698,270 $ (617,430) Hughson $ 2,006,011 $ 309,689 Rancho Cordova $ 2,470,275 $ 154,575 WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the contract for the Lower Sacramento Road Resurfacing Project to DSS Company, dba Knife River Construction, of Stockton, in the amount of $1,479,835; and WHEREAS, staff further recommends authorizing the City Manager to execute change orders in an amount not to exceed $100,000; and WHEREAS, staff further recommends appropriating funds in the amount of $150,000 to the Gas Tax Fund (30499000.77020). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby award the contract for the Lower Sacramento Road Resurfacing Project to DSS Company, dba Knife River Construction, of Stockton, California, in the amount of $1,479,835; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to execute the contract and change orders in an amount not to exceed $100,000; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby appropriate funds in the amount of $150,000 to the Gas Tax Fund (30499000.77020); and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol Manual (adopted 11/6%19, Resolution No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
