HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2023-143RESOLUTION NO. 2023-143 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO WAIVE THE BID PROCESS AND PURCHASE ONE SINGLE -WORKER BUCKET TRUCK, ONE TWO -WORKER BUCKET TRUCK, AND ONE DIGGER DERRICK TRUCK FROM GLOBAL RENTAL COMPANY, OF BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA, UTILIZING SOURCEWELL CONTRACT NO. 062320 -ALT WHEREAS, Lodi Electric Utility (LEU) currently utilizes the vehicles listed in the table below to perform maintenance and construction of the electric system for the City of Lodi; and Description Current Vehicle - # Mileage Total Repair Cost Cost inc. Tax and Delivery Crew Bucket Truck 09-009-16 11,502 $34,213.45 $248,916.64 Substation Bucket Truck 09-072-15 17,378 $10,524.37 $204,346.24 Digger Derrick 09-010-15 27,033 $34,377.37 $374,026.24 EST Total. $827,289.12 WHEREAS, this equipment will help the construction and substation crews to work safely and efficiently and will increase their productivity; and WHEREAS, the production and delivery time on these types of vehicle is typically over three years, but this vendor has these vehicles available to be delivered in 2023. These vehicles are critical to ensuring safe, reliable electric service for LEU customers; and WHEREAS, per Lodi Municipal Code Section 3.20.045, State and Local Agency Contracts, the bidding process may be waived when it is advantageous for the City, with appropriate approval by the City Manager and City Council, to use contracts that have been awarded by other California public agencies, provided that its award was in compliance with their formally -adopted bidding or negotiation procedures; and WHERAS, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to waive the bid process and purchase the proposed equipment in an amount not to exceed $850,000, using competitively -bid Sourcewell Contract No. 062320 -ALT. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to waive the bid process and purchase one single worker bucket truck, one two worker bucket truck, and one digger derrick truck from Global Rentals, of Birmingham, Alabama, utilizing competitively -bid Sourcewell Contract No. 062320 -ALT, in an amount not to exceed $850,000.
