MEETING DATE: PREPARED BY: May 3, 2023 Chief of Police RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt resolution to appropriate funds in the amount of $85,000 for the purchase of one animal services truck from Winner Chevrolet, of Elk Grove, and the outfitting of four Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles and one animal services truck from Stommel, Inc., dba LEHR, of Sacramento. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Lodi Police Department was allotted the purchase and outfitting of one Animal Services truck and four Ford Police Interceptor Utility Vehicles through the normal fiscal year 2022/23 budgeting process. Due to inflation of services and equipment, the amount originally allocated is not sufficient for the purchase and procurement of said vehicles and outfitting. Staff requests the additional budget allocation and approval of $85,000 to complete the purchases and outfitting of the five vehicles listed above. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no impact to the General Fund from this vehicle purchase. Apr 7, 2023 Page 16 RESOLUTION NO. 2023-84 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE ANIMAL SERVICES TRUCK FROM WINNER CHEVROLET, OF ELK GROVE, AND THE OUTFITTING OF FOUR POLICE INTERCEPTOR UTILITY VEHICLES AND ONE ANIMAL SERVICES TRUCK FROM STOMMEL, INC., DBA LEHR, OF SACRAMENTO WHEREAS, the Lodi Police Department was allotted the purchase and outfitting of four Ford Police Interceptor Utility Vehicles and one Animal Services truck through the normal Fiscal Year 2022/23 budgeting process; and WHEREAS, due to the inflation of services and equipment, the amount originally allocated is not sufficient for the purchase and procurement of said vehicles; and WHEREAS, staff requests the additional budget allocation and approval of $85,000 to complete the purchase and outfitting of one Animal Services truck and four Ford Interceptors. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby appropriate funds in the amount of $85,000 from account number 64399100.77040 for the purchase of one Animal Services truck from Winner Chevrolet, of Elk Grove, California, and the outfitting of five vehicles from Stommel, Inc., dba LEHR, of Sacramento, California.
