HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2023-120RESOLUTION NO. 2023-120 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE A CLAIM FOR 2022/23 TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDS FROM LOCAL TRANSPORTATION FUND AND FROM STATE TRANSIT ASSISTANCE FUND WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act (TDA) provides two major sources of funding for public transportation projects: Local Transportation Fund (LTF) and State Transit Assistance (STA), which are apportioned to counties based on population, taxable sales, and transit performance; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of the TDA, the City is required to make an annual claim for LTF and STA funds. The claim is submitted to the State of California through the San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG), the regional transportation planning agency designated by the State to administer and allocate TDA funds to eligible agencies in San Joaquin County; and WHEREAS, Lodi's TDA claim for Fiscal Year 2022/23 is $6,626,796, which includes the following summarized below: Transit Operations Transit Capital Projects Pedestrian/Bicycle Projects Streets/Roads Projects Total: LTF STA Total $1,000,000 $0 $1,000,000 $4,213,042 $89,717 $4,302,759 $126,043 $0 $126,043 $1,197,994 $0 $1,197,994 $6,537,079 $89,717 $6,626,796 WHEREAS, the City Manager may make minor adjustments when filing the final claim, based upon SJCOG's review and comments; and WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to file a claim for Fiscal Year 2022/23 Transportation Development Act funds from Local Transportation Fund in the amount of $ 6,537,079, and State Transit Assistance Fund in the amount of $ 89,717. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to file a claim for Fiscal Year 2022/23 Transportation Development Act Funds from Local Transportation Fund, in the amount of $ 6,537,079, and State Transit Assistance Fund in the amount of $ 89,717.
