A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
AGREEMENT WITH ALPHA OMEGA WIRELESS, INC., OF SACRAMENTO, FOR
PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW MICROWAVE NETWORK

WHEREAS, the City is reliant on a stable and reliable microwave signal to deliver network
services to remote City facilities; and
WHEREAS, White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility (WSWPCF) is outside the City's
boundaries and is located far from the accessibility of the City's fiber optic network; and
WHEREAS, on February 1, 2023 the City Manager approved a Professional Service
Agreement with Alpha Omega Inc., for continued support and maintenance of the wireless
microwave network between downtown Lodi and WSWPCF; and
WHEREAS, City staff are expanding network services at WSWPCF, which includes
additional security, video surveillance, and the ability to extend network services to a future public
safety training facility; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends approving Amendment No. 1 for the purchase and
installation of an Aviat Microwave system to replace the City's current microwave to WSWPCF at
a cost of $53,596.35; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to approve change orders
related to the project of $5,400 to cover expenses due to unforeseen risks; and
WHEREAS, staff also recommends authorizing the City Manager to expend up to $5,000
for time and material on projects outside the current scope of maintenance and support under the
Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize
the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with
Alpha Omega Wireless, Inc., of Sacramento, California, for the purchase and installation of an
Aviat Microwave system to replace the existing microwave between downtown and White Slough
in an amount not to exceed $54,000, and further authorize City Manager to approve change
orders related to the project up to $5,400 and authorize the City Manager to expend up to $5,000
for time and material for projects outside the current scope of services, for a total contract not to
exceed $75,650, and carry over any remaining project funds from 2022-23 budget to 2023-24;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol
Manual (adopted 11/6/19, Resolution No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to
make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or
term, and make clerical corrections as necessary.
