A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDERS TO THE
LODI GUN RANGE VENTILATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT;
AND FURTHER APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, for over 50 years, the existing gun range, located in the basement of the
City Hall Annex Building at 213 West Elm Street, has been utilized by the Lodi Police
Department to practice firearm and target shooting; and
WHEREAS, a project intended to upgrade the ventilation system was awarded to Diede
Construction on April 2, 2022, and included the removal of the existing HVAC system,
installation of the new HVAC system with filters, modification of HVAC duct work, and other
miscellaneous and related items as shown on the plans and specifications for the project; and
WHEREAS, before project demolition started, lead testing determined that the entire
basement area, including the ventilation system, has extremely high lead levels on all surfaces
that need to be abated before any work can begin; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to execute change orders
for the abatement to the Lodi Gun Range Ventilation Improvement Project and appropriating
funds in the amount of $300,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby
authorize the City Manager to execute change orders to the Lodi Gun Range Ventilation
Improvement Project, in an amount not to exceed $300,000; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby appropriate funds
in the amount of $300,000 to General Fund Capital (43199000.77020); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol
Manual (adopted 11/6/19, Resolution No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to
make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation
or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
