AGENDA TITLE: Adopt a Resolution Awarding the Contract for the Lodi Station Parking Structure,
50 North Sacramento Street, to F & H Construction ($6,724,000); and Appropriate
$7,017,000 for the Project
MEETING DATE: March 21, 2001
PREPARED BY: Public Works Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution awarding the contract for the above project to
F & H Construction, of Stockton, in the amount of $6,724,000 (base bid plus
Alternates #1 and #2); and appropriate funds in accordance with the recommendation

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Final Environmental Assessment for the Lodi Station Parking Structure
and amendment to the Federal Transportation Improvement Program
(FTIP) are the last requirements that must be met prior to contract award.
The 30 day review period of the Final Environmental Assessment and the
FTIP amendment ends on March 21, 2001. FTA is scheduled to issue a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI)
on March 21, 2001. We anticipate those actions will be completed by that time. If they are delayed, staff will update
Council at the meeting.
This project consists of a three (3) level parking structure (120,000± square feet, 329 cars): one (1) at ground level
and two (2) levels above ground; ground level retail/office space (15,000± square feet); associated electrical,
mechanical, utility, site preparation and landscape work; curb gutter and sidewalks; and demolition and replacement
Of Sacramento Street from Pine to Elm.
Plans and specifications for this project were approved on July 19, 2000. The bid included two alternates: Alternate 1
was for the decorative metalwork on the east side of the structure; and Alternate 2 was for removal of the abandoned 8 -
inch water line along Sacramento Street. Staff is recommending we accept the base bid plus both alternates at this time.
