HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2023-50RESOLUTION NO. 2023-50 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CASH -OUT OF EMPLOYEE COVID 2020 LEAVE BALANCES ----------------- WHEREAS, Governor Newsom declared a state of emergency on March 4, 2020 in response to the global COVID-19 outbreak; and WHERAS, the City Council provided employees with a one-time special 2020 COVID leave bank of 80 hours to address the growing demand on employee leave balances due to COVID-19 absences; and WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the use of $1,365,000 of American Rescue Plan Act of 2020 (ARPA) funds earmarked for General Fund revenue loss for the 2020 COVID leave costs; and WHEREAS, Governor Newsom declared the COVID-19 state of emergency over as of February 28, 2023. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the cashing out of any remaining 2020 COVID leave balances effective the first pay period after the adoption of the resolution; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that staff will bring forth the final 2020 COVID-19 special leave costs and request the authorization of budget appropriations once final figures are known.
