COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
AGENDA TITLE: Adopt Resolution Approving Addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding between
the City of Lodi and the Lodi Police Dispatchers Association for the Period July 1, 2022
through June 30, 2025, Providing an Additional One Percent Wage Increase
MEETING DATE: July 20, 2022
PREPARED BY: Human Resources Manager
RECOMMENDED ACTION Adopt resolution approving Addendum to the Memorandum of
Understanding between the City of Lodi and the Lodi Police Dispatchers
Association for the period July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025, providing
an additional one percent wage increase.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION In July, Council approved a successor Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU) with the Lodi Police Dispatchers Association (LPDA). The MOU
provided for general wage increases of fourteen percent (14%) over the
three year term of the contract.
The City has completed negotiations with all of the bargaining units across the City and wish to provide the same
wage increase to the LPDA that was provided to the other bargaining units. The City proposes to provide a five
percent (5%) wage increase effective July 10, 2023, instead of a four percent (4%) wage increase.
Staff recommends that the Council approve the amendment of the LPDA MOU to provide an additional one
percent wage increase effective July 10, 2023.
FISCAL IMPACT: The cost for the additional 1% is $13,000 in FY 2023/24 and $13,130 in FY
2024/25.
FUNDING AVAILABLE. Vacancy savings are the first source for funding the increases for this contract
change in the coming Fiscal Year.
