AGENDA TITLE: Accept Improvements Under Contract for Peterson Park Restroom,
199 Evergreen Drive
MEETING DATE: March 21, 2001

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the "Peterson Park
Restroom, 199 Evergreen Drive" contract and direct the City Engineer to
file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to Restroom Facilities, Ltd., of Reno,
Nevada, in the amount of $137,886.60. The contract has been
completed in substantial conformance with the plans and
specifications approved by the City Council.
The contract completion date was January 29, 2001 and the actual completion date was
February 2, 2001. Four days of liquidated damages (at $250 per calendar day) were assessed on this
contract. The contract completion date was January 29, 2001 and Restroom Facilities did not schedule a
final building permit inspection until four days later, February 2, 2001. The final contract price was
$139,486.60. The difference between the contract amount and the final contract price is mainly due to a
contract change order, which added trellises over the entry doors to each restroom.
FUNDING: Budgeted Fund: Parks Impact Mitigation Fee Fund $150,000.00
