HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - March 21, 2001 E-04�y OFA CITY OF 1 E- �1 COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Authorize the City Manager to Purchase Two (2) Electric Panels from All -Phase Electric Company in Stockton, CA, in the amount of $40,796.25 for Turner Road Underpass Storm Pumping Facility and Water Well No. 26 at Katzakian Park, and Appropriate Funds to Cover the Purchase MEETING DATE: March 21, 2001 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council authorize the City Manager to purchase two (2) electric panels from All -Phase Electric Company, in Stockton, in the amount of $40,796.25 for Turner Road Underpass Storm Pumping Facility and Water Well No. 26 at Katzakian Park, and appropriate funds to cover the purchase. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This is an emergency purchase of a replacement electric panel for the Turner Road Underpass Storm Pumping facility. It also includes the purchase of the electric panel for City Water Well No. 26 at Katzakian Park presently being constructed. Both panels are manufactured by Square D Company. The City standardized low voltage electrical panels as manufactured by Square D Company in 1982 through Resolution No. 82-88. Following evaluation and determination by City electricians as to which electric panels were needed at the two locations, we solicited informal bids. The five bids received are itemized below. All -Phase Electric Company was the apparent low bidder. FUNDING: The money for this project will be coming from the Wastewater Fund and Water Impact Fees. Dixon Flynn -- City Manager LWROJECTSIWATEMCC01We1126-TrnrRdundrps.doc 03/21/01 RESOLUTION NO. 2001-62 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE, CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE TWO (2) ELECTRIC PANELS, ONE FOR THE TURNER ROAD UNDERPASS STORM PUMPING FACILITY AND ONE FOR WATER WELL NO. 26 AT KATZAKIAN PARK, AND FURTHER APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO COVER THIS PURCHASE WHEREAS, Lodi Municipal Code, §3.20.070, authorizes dispensing with bids for purchases of supplies, services or equipment when it is in the best interest of the City to do so; and WHEREAS, an emergency purchase of a replacement electric panel for the Turner Road Underpass Storm Pumping facility has become necessary. This purchase will also include an additional electric panel for City Water Well No. 26 at Katzakian Park presently being constructed. Both panels are manufactured by Square D Company.
