Council Members

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt resolution rescinding Resolution 2021-12 and approving Benefit
Modification for Council Members.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Council previously adopted Resolution 2021-12 that set the
benefits and contribution rates for which Council members are
eligible. City staff have negotiated new contracts with the majority of City staff that includes an increase to the
City's contribution towards medical premiums. Staff recommend that the City increase the City's capped
contribution towards medical for Council members to the same rates as offered to City employees. The
increased premium contribution would be effective the first pay period in which January 1, 2023 falls,

Each Council member shall be issued a new iPad or equivalent
device at the beginning of each 4 -year term for official City of
Lodi business use only. At the completion of the term, the !Pad
shall be returned to the Information Technology Manager to be
wiped at which time the Council member may keep the wiped
iPad fore�rsonal use.

Council members are not eligible for Tuition Reimbursement under the City's Tuition Reimbursement policy.
Attached is a copy of Resolution 2021-12.
FISCAL IMPACT: It is estimated that the benefit modifications will cost the City a maximum
of $12,660 per year should all five Council members elect City health
coverage at the family tier.
FUNDING AVAILABLE: Necessary funding will be included in each fiscal year budget.

RESOLUTION NO. 2022-285
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL APPROVING
BENEFIT MODIFICATIONS FOR COUNCIL MEMBERS AND
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2021-12
WHEREAS, the Lodi City Council is amending the benefits provided to its City Council
Members; and
WHEREAS, the following Schedule of Benefits represents a listing of those benefits:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby approve
the benefit modifications for Council Members and rescind Resolution No. 2021-12.
