HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - November 16, 2022 H-03CITY OF CALIFORNIA AGENDA ITEM H 5 COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Receive a Presentation Regarding Updates on the Lodi Access Center MEETING DATE: November 16, 2022 PREPARED BY: Community Development Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive a presentation regarding updates on the Lodi Access Center BACKGROUND INFORMATION: After a several month community engagement process, on October 6, 2021, City Council approved the development of the Access Center and location at 710 N. Sacramento Street in Lodi. On April 20, 2022, City Council Approved Inner City Action Inc., to operate the Temporary Emergency Shelter (temporary Access Center) and on July 22, 2022, the temporary Access Center opened for operations at the Sacramento Street site. This presentation will share some of the success stories and updates on what has occurred at the temporary Access Center since opening. In the months since the property was acquired, Staff not only worked on the temporary Access Center, but also on moving the permanent Access Center forward. On October 19, 2022, City Council authorized the City Manager to execute Amendment No.1 to the Professional Services Agreement with NJ Associates, Inc., for Access Center design development, civil engineering construction documents, bid documents, and construction. Schematic design has been completed and construction documents are being started. These items will also be included in the presentation. FISCAL IMPACT: Not Applicable.
