RECOMMENDED ACTION. Post for vacancies on the Planning Commission and Lodi Arts
Commission.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Due to recent resignations, the Planning Commission and the Lodi Arts
Commission each have one vacancy. Staff recommends posting for the
vacancies for a period of 30 days.
Government Code Section 54970 et seci. requires that the City Clerk post for vacancies to allow citizens
interested in serving to submit an application.

Purpose: To review changes to the City's General Plan & zoning regulations to
ensure development in Lodi is of the highest quality and provide
recommendations to Council on such matters dealing with community
development.
Meetings: Meets the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Membership: Seven members

LODI ARTS COMMISSION - 9 members, 3 -year terms. Meets 2nd Wednesday of each month at 12:00 p.m., Carnegie Forum

Purpose: To inspire, encourage and promote the arts in the community. In addition, the Arts Commission oversees the City's public art
program, and recommends the distribution of annual arts grants awarded by the City Council. The Commission assists the Lodi Arts
Foundation to raise funds to advance its purpose.

Purpose: To review the annual accountability report and report its findings to City Council, in relation to revenues generated through
the general retail transaction and use tax approved by the citizens as Measure L.

Forum. Contact: Christina Jaromay, Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Director, 333-6742
Purpose: To advise City Council regarding parks, recreation, and leisure activities that would interest or impact the community. In
addition, the Commission advises the Council on fees, any changes to the Lodi Municipal Code that affect park operations, prioritizing
capital expenditures and other matters that affect the public's use and enjoyment of City parks while providing a forum for public
engagement.
