�E+ CITY OF t CALIFORNIA AGENDA ITEM C-5 COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Adopt Resolution Authorizing City Manager to Waive Bid Process and Purchase Two Single Worker Bucket Trucks and One Single Worker Bucket Truck with Material Handler Boom from Terex Utilities, Inc. of Stockton ($675,000) MEETING DATE: August 3, 2022 PREPARED BY: Electric Utility Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to waive the bid process and purchase two single worker bucket trucks and one single worker bucket truck with material handler boom from Terex Utilities, Inc. of Stockton in an amount not -to -exceed $675,000. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Lodi Electric Utility (LEU) currently utilizes the vehicles listed in the table below to perform maintenance and construction of the electric system for the City of Lodi. The delivery time on this type of vehicle is approximately three years. These vehicles are critical to ensuring safe, reliable electric service for LEU customers. Per Lodi Municipal Code Section 3.20.045, State and Local Agency Contracts, the bidding process may be waived when it is advantageous for the City, with appropriate approval by the City Manager and City Council, to use contracts that have been awarded by other California public agencies, provided that its award was in compliance with their formally -adopted bidding or negotiation procedures. FISCAL IMPACT: The replacement of these vehicles, totaling $675,000, will provide LEU staff a more safe and efficient platform for maintaining the City's electric distribution system, including emergency calls. This purchase does not impact the General Fund.
