HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - February 21, 2001 E-12AGENDA TITLE: Accept Improvements Under Contract for Lane Line Painting, Various City Streets, 2000 MEETING DATE: February 21, 2001 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the Lane Line Painting, Various City Streets, 2000 contract. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to Safety Striping Service, Inc., of Visalia, on September 20, 2000, in the amount of $52,629.31. The contract has been completed in substantial conformance with the specifications approved by the City Council. The contract completion date was December 19, 2000. The final contract price was $51,671.26. The difference between the original contract price and the final contract price resulted from a reduction of the original linear footage to be painted. The City is assuming responsibility for additional cleanup which would normally have been completed by the contractor. The agreed-upon price of $1,000.00 will be deducted from the final contract payment as compensation for City cleanup. Following acceptance by the City Council, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder's office.
