HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2022-169RESOLUTION NO. 2022-169 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO WAIVE THE BID PROCESS AND PURCHASE ONE SCHWARZE MODEL A7 TORNADO REGENERATIVE AIR SWEEPER FROM MUNICIPAL MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT, INC., OF SACRAMENTO, UTILIZING THE COMPETITIVELY -BID SOURCEWELL CONTRACT NO. 093021-SWZ; AND FURTHER APPROPRIATING FUNDS WHEREAS, the City removes small collections of litter, debris, and fine metal particles left on roadways, which can make their way into local waterways. The Municipal Utilities Services is responsible for cleaning 360 miles of curb, 16 miles of alleys, 19 parking lots, and removing approximately 1,475 tons of debris and 4,500 cubic yards of leaves during leaf season. The Municipal Utilities Services Division is in need of replacing Vehicle No. 04-105, a 2005 Elgin Street Sweeper, which has exceeded its useful life; and WHEREAS, per Lodi Municipal Code §3.20.045, State and Local Agency Contracts, the bidding process may be waived when it is advantageous for the City, with appropriate approval by City Manager and City Council, to use contracts that have been awarded by other California public agencies, provided that their award was in compliance with their formally -adopted bidding or negotiation procedures; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to waive the bid process and purchase one Schwarze Model A7 Tornado Regenerative Air Sweeper from Municipal Maintenance Equipment, Inc., of Sacramento, in the amount of $332,470, utilizing the competitively -bid Sourcewell Contract No. 093021-SWZ to replace Vehicle No. 04-105; and WHEREAS, staff further recommends appropriation of funds in the amount of $166,235 from Measure K Fund (30399000.77040). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to waive the bid process and purchase one Schwarze Model A7 Tornado Regenerative Air Sweeper from Municipal Maintenance Equipment, Inc., of Sacramento, California, in the amount of $332,470, utilizing the competitively -bid Sourcewell Contract No. 093021-SWZ, to replace Vehicle No. 04-105; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Lodi City Council does hereby authorize appropriation of funds in the amount of $166,235 as set forth above; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol Manual (adopted 11/6/19, Resolution No 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
