HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2022-162RESOLUTION NO. 2022-162 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE LIBRARY AND LITERACY FOUNDATION FOR SAN JOAQUIN FOR THE CITY OF LODI POET LAUREATE PROGRAM; AND FURTHER APPROPRIATING FUNDS WHEREAS, the Library and Literacy Foundation for San Joaquin (Foundation) has a mission to support programs in communities that foster literacy and promote the power of reading to enrich lives; and WHEREAS, the Foundation desires to support the founding of the City of Lodi's first Poet Laureate Program; and WHEREAS, the City's Poet Laureate Program shall support Lodi literacy programs and foster appreciation for poetry and its benefits through reading poetry at civic events, development of commemorative poems that express Lodi life, and providing workshops to the community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to accept a grant in the amount of $15,000 from the Library and Literacy Foundation for San Joaquin for the City of Lodi Poet Laureate Program; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby appropriate revenue in the amount of $15,000 to 20600000.56452 and appropriate expense in the amount of $15,000 to 20673405.72338 for use beginning July 1, 2022 through July 30, 2025; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol Manual (Res. No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
