AGENDA TITLE: Adopt Resolution Accepting 2018 Parks Bond Act Per Capita Grant Funds from the
State of California for Raising Enze Pool Floor Project ($219,679)

from the State of California for Raising Enze Pool Floor Project
($219,679)
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Enze Pool at Blakely Park, located at 1050 S. Stockton Street, is currently
not open to public recreational swim due to the depth of the pool.
This project consists of raising one-third of the existing 75 -foot -long swimming pool floor 6 inches to
accommodate recreational swim lesson and to meet California Health and Safety Code Section 116050 and
San Joaquin County Health Department requirements for public pool operations. The work includes removing
one-third of the existing finished pool plaster surface, pool depth markers, and lane -line tile work. Plaster shall
be removed to the existing gunite pool shell. Re -bar reinforcement shall be secured to the existing gunite pool
shell, new gunite application, along with new white pool plastering, new lane -line tile work to match existing
and new pool depth markers to raise the existing 4 -foot shallow end of the pool to a finished depth of X-6".
Funding to complete the project will be granted by the State of California, 2018 Parks Bond Act Per Capita in
two contracts: 1) $177,952 Per Capita and 2) $41,727 Urban County Per Capita in the total amount of $219,679.

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTING 2018 PARKS
BOND ACT PER CAPITA GRANT FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
FOR RAISING ENZE POOL FLOOR PROJECT

WHEREAS, Enze Pool at Blakely Park is currently not open to public recreational swim
due to the depth of the pool; and
WHEREAS, this project consists of raising one-third of the existing 75 -foot -long swimming
pool floor 6 inches to accommodate recreational swim lessons and to meet California Health and
Safety Code Section 116050 and San Joaquin County Health Department requirements for public
pool operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby accept
the 2018 Parks Bond Act Per Capita grant funds from the State of California for raising Enze Pool
floor project, in the amount of $219,679; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol
Manual (Res. No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to make minor revisions to
the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or term, and to make
clerical corrections as necessary.
