RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution confirming CalPERS cost-sharing modifications
for Council Appointees.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Pursuant to Resolutions 2018-253, 2020-59, 2020-60 and 2020-61,
Council Appointees agreed to cost-sharing contributions of three
percent (3%) effective December 3, 2018, one percent (1%)
effective July 13, 2020, one percent (1%) effective
January 11, 2021, and one percent (1%) effective January 10, 2022; whereby, all members (Classic and
PEPRA) agreed to contribute to the City's normal contribution to CalPERS, in addition to the employee's
normal contribution.

Due to administrative changes CalPERS requires the City to prepare an amendment to our contract for
the Council Appointees cost sharing; whereas, prior to the amendment the cost-sharing was
implemented through a Council Resolution only.
The City will submit an amendment to the CalPERS contract, upon adoption of this resolution, in order to
process the cost-sharing modifications for Council Appointees and all other unrepresented groups
(Confidential Mid -Management, Confidential General Services, and Executive Management).
FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact.
FUNDING AVAILABLE: No additional funding needed

RESOLUTION NO. 2021-332
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL CONFIRMING CALPERS
COST-SHARING MODIFICATION FOR COUNCIL APPOINTEES
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution Nos. 2018-253, 2020-59, 2020-60, and 2020-61,
and in accordance with California Government Code §20516, Council Appointees agreed to pay
additional cost-sharing towards the employer's share of CalPERS normal pension cost (cost-
sharing), in addition to the employee's normal contribution for both Classic and PEPRA as
follows:
■ 3% cost-sharing effective December 3, 2018
■ 1% cost-sharing effective July 13, 2020
• 1 % cost-sharing effective January 11, 2021
■ 1 % cost-sharing effective January 10, 2022
WHEREAS, due to administrative changes, CalPERS requires a contract amendment in
order to amend cost-sharing amounts for unrepresented employees; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lodi will submit an amendment to the CalPERS contract in order
to amend the cost-sharing contribution for Council Appointees and all other unrepresented
groups.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby confirm
the additional cost-sharing as previously approved in the resolutions listed above.
