RECOMMENDED ACTION: Accept a presentation by Tree Lodi regarding the Lodi Shade Tree
Pilot Project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Tree Lodi, a local nonprofit organization committed to preserving
and enhancing our urban forest, provides many benefits to the City
of Lodi through education, volunteerism, and tree planting.
Tree Lodi, in partnership with the City of Lodi's Electric Utility, launched the Lodi Shade Tree Project
with the goals of increasing the City's urban canopy, reducing energy consumption, and increasing
property values, resident health, and community pride.

Lodi Shade Tree Pilot Project
A pilot collaboration between
Tree Lodi City of Lodi Electric Utility
Program Goals
Increase Lodi's urban canopy by
providing 500 free 5 -gallon trees to
Lodi Electrical Utility customers.
Reduce energy consumption within
the first year of the program.
Ascertain and document carbon
sequestration benefits
Increase property values, health,
wellness, and community pride.
Who is Eligible?
All Lodi Electric
customers within the
city of Lodi who have
space on their
property (excluding
planting strips) for
trees.
