BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On March 7, 2018, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1949, transitioning from at -large elections to by -district City Council member elections following the 2018 elections. Once the federal census data is released, State law requires the City Council review and adjust the boundaries of its districts to ensure compliance with the Voting Rights Act. Pursuant to California Elections Code 21600 et seq., the City of Lodi is required to review and make adjustments to the boundaries of the five Council districts (redistrict) after each Federal decennial census, using the census data as a basis for any changes. The purpose of this second public hearing is to receive public input on communities with the Council Districts. FISCAL IMPACTS Not applicable. FUNDING AVAILABLE Not applicable.
