HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2021-232RESOLUTION NO. 2021-232 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO WAIVE THE BID PROCESS AND EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH LODI MEMORIAL HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION, INC., DOING BUSINESS AS AH LODI MEMORIAL OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE FOR FIREFIGHTER PHYSICALS WHEREAS, the Lodi Fire Department entered into a Professional Services Agreement with AH Lodi Memorial Occupational Health and has been utilizing their services for annual physicals since that time; and WHEREAS, AH Lodi Memorial Occupational Health is the only organization within Lodi that offers the annual physical services needed by the Fire Department. Firefighters are able to receive their physicals while on duty and still have the ability to respond to emergency calls. This saves in overtime costs and allows the Fire Department to continue providing the community with immediate emergency response; and WHEREAS, AH Lodi Memorial Occupational Health has also agreed maintain the same pricing as in 2017 for their services. This pricing is close to half of what the costs would be if these services were contracted with another medical group and Fire personnel are able to stay in Lodi; and WHEREAS, per Lodi Municipal Code Section 3.20.070, the bidding process may be waived when it is advantageous for the City; and WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to waive the bidding process and execute a Professional Services Agreement with Lodi Memorial Hospital Association, Inc., dba AH Lodi Memorial Occupational Medicine, in an amount not to exceed $85,000 over the five- year term of the agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to waive the bidding process and execute a Professional Services Agreement with Lodi Memorial Hospital Association, Inc., dba AH Lodi Memorial Occupational Medicine, of Lodi, California, to provide firefighter physicals, in an amount not to exceed $85,000 over the five- year term of the agreement; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council Protocol Manual (Res. No. 2019-223), the City Attorney is hereby authorized to make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do not alter the compensation or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
