RECOMMENDED ACTION: Mayor Nakanishi will present a proclamation proclaiming May 7,
2021 as "Child Care Provider Appreciation Day" in the City of Lodi.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Mayor has been requested to present a proclamation proclaiming
May 7, 2021 as Child Care Provider Appreciation Day. The Family
Resource and Referral Center, Child Care Aware of America, the
National Association for Family Child Care, National Association for the Education of Young Children, the
National Head Start Association, the National Indian Child Care Association, Teachstone, the After School
Alliance, and other organizations nationwide are recognizing all Child Care Providers on this day. By
calling attention to the importance of high-quality child care services for all children and families within Lodi,
these groups hope to improve the quality and availability of such services.
