AGENDA TITLE: Adopt Resolution Appropriating Balance of Cyber -Security Grant Funded by the
Office of Emergency Services ($284,706.81)

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt resolution appropriating balance of Cyber -security grant
funded by the Office of Emergency Services ($284,706.81)
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City was chosen by The California Office of Emergency Services
for cyber security upgrades in September 2019. The grant funding
was used to improve the City's cyber -security protection and data
retention.
The City has since upgraded the City's firewalls, data backups systems and endpoint protection with help
from the grant. In continuation, the City will use the remaining funds for hardware upgrades to replace
units that are out of compliance and pose a security risk to the network.
Staff are recommending appropriating the remaining funds for budget 2020-21 for the amount of
$284,706.81 in 21620400-77020.

Cyber security is the responsibility of all employees. Funding for this
service is provided through the Cybersecurity grant from the State of
California.

RESOLUTION NO. 2021-08
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
APPROPRIATING BALANCE OF CYBER -SECURITY GRANT
FUNDED BY THE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR
HARDWARE UPGRADES
WHEREAS, the City of Lodi was selected by the California Office of Emergency Services
for cyber security upgrades in September 2019; and
WHEREAS, the grant funding was used to improve the City's cyber -security protection
and data retention; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends appropriating the remaining funds for Budget 2020-21 in
the amount of $284,706.81 in 21620400-77020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby
appropriate funds in the amount of $284,706.81 for hardware upgrades to replace units that are
out of compliance and pose a security risk to the network as set forth above.
