MEETING DATE: January 9, 2001 PREPARED BY: Electric Utility Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council award the purchase of various materials for the 60kV transmission line from Industrial Substation to Harney Lane to the low bidder in each category meeting the City's requirements in the total amount of $97,343.34. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On December 12th & 131', 2000, bids were received and opened for twelve (12) distinct groups of material items. The bid results are shown on the enclosed summary. This project will provide the City with necessary transmission capacity and reliability during summer peaks. The transmission line is a portion of a planned 60kV line that will inter -connect the Industrial Substation with a new substation on the west side of Lodi. This project will also facilitate removal of existing PG&E electric structures along Cherokee Lane. The Electric Utility Department is currently discussing this option with PG&E. The estimated cost of this project is $350,000. FUNDING: Authorization to transfer funds for the construction and procurement of materials and specifications for this project were approved by the City Council at the meeting of November 15, 2000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that the award of the bid for the purchase of various materials for the 60kV transmission line from Industrial Substation to Harney Lane, be made to the low bidder in each category meeting the City's requirements, as shown on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof, in the amount of $97,343.34.
