RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopta resolution authorizing ûre Cig Managerto ûansferthe balance of

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Beginnlng ln the year 2000, donatlons made to PRCS by community

that were designated for certain proJects have been completed; ttie
remaining funds are undeslgnated to be used at thedepartment's dlscretion within the generai categories the
donatlons -were orlginally lntended for.
Gunently, a balance of $139,138.23 remalns ln the PRCS expendable trust, pRCS would like to tmnsfer theremaining balance in the dorratlon expendable trust into the PRCS fund batance to use on park projects and
recreatlon programs. The Clty has tracked donaüons by thelr inltlal intended purpose. Due to donåtions in
qxceg.s of spectñed projects, the City has 939,665.58 ln donations for capital projäcts and 9g9,422.65 in
donatlons for generic recreations programs.
Beglnning ln 2016, the_Clty ceased acceptlng direct monetary donations for undesignated projects. Donalons
for undeslgnated PRGS projects a¡e now accepted by the Lodl Gommunity Foundaion. Tnis liem ls to closethe clty's local donation accounts and put the money to use within pRcs.
Staff recommends that the City Councll authorlze the Clty Mañaþer to transfer the funds ln thE amount of
$39,665'58 tom account14Ù.23712 into fund 4gZ-ParkiCapitaiand $99,472.65 fom account 140.23702 into
fund 200-PRCS Fund Balance.
FISCAL IMPAGT: Transfer $99,665.58 Í¡om 140.23702 into tund 482 (PRCS Capttat) and
$99'472.65 from tund 140.zaro2 into tund 200 (pRcs Fund tiahríce)
FUNDING AVAII-ABLE: The source of the transfer is donatlons received by the Gity for PRCS funcgons.

A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TRANSFER THE
BALANCE OF THE PARKS, RECREATION AND CULTURAL
SERVTCES (PRCS) DONATTON EXPENDABLE TRUST tNTO
THE PRCS CAPITAL FUND BALANCE
WHEREAS, beginning in 2000, donations made to Parks, Recreation and Cultural
Services (PRCS) by community members and businesses were tracked in a database and
deposited into an expendable trust account; and
WHEREAS, donations received throughout the years that were designated for certain
projects have been completed; the remaining funds are undesignated to be used at the
department's discretion within the general categories the donations were originally intended for;
and
WHEREAS, a balance of $139,138.23 remains in the PRCS expendable trust.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby
authorize the City Manager to transfer the funds in the amount of $39,665.58 from account
140.23702 into fund 432-Parks Capital, and $99,472.65 from account number 140.23702 into
fund 200-PRCS Fund Balance.
