AGENDA TITLE: Award Contract for Testing and Inspection Services for Lodi Station Parking
Structure and Lower Sacramento Road Widening Projects ($89,920)
MEETING DATE: September 20, 2000
PREPARED BY: Public Works Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution awarding the
contract for testing and inspection services for the above projects to
Krazan & Associates, Inc., of Sacramento, in the amount of $89,915; and
appropriate funds in accordance with the recommendation shown below.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Current Building Code requires testing of construction materials and
inspection of structural construction methods by qualified
independent testing and inspection firms. A Request for Proposal
was sent to five interested parties for the Lodi Station Parking
Structure Project. Krazan & Associates is the qualified firm with the lowest proposal.
The proposal is worded such that the City can elect to authorize the successful proposer to perform
required work on other City projects at the same rates quoted in the proposal. Staff recommends
including, with this contract, materials testing for the Lower Sacramento Road Widening Project. We
anticipate requiring the materials testing for concrete and compaction on this project in spring 2001.
FUNDING: Requested Appropriation: Federal Transit Administration (125569.7323) $90,000
