A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT
NO. 5 TO CONTRACT WITH CINTAS CORPORATION NO. 3, OF
STOCKTON, FOR RENTAL AND CLEANING OF UNIFORMS FOR
CERTAIN FIELD AND WAREHOUSE EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, at the March 16, 2016 meeting, Council adopted a resolution
awarding the contract for rental and cleaning of uniforms for certain employees to
Cintas, of Stockton, in the amount of $71,995; and
WHEREAS, at the September 20, 2017 meeting, Council authorized Amendment
No. 1 that added $75,000 to the contract to cover increased rental costs associated with
the City converting to Class III, high -visibility shirts to comply with Occupational Safety
and Health Administration safety standards for working in higher speed roadways; and
WHEREAS, at the June 6, 2018 meeting, Council authorized Amendment No. 2
that extended the contract term by one year, through June 30, 2019 and added $75,000
to the contract; and
WHEREAS, at the September 19, 2018 meeting, Council authorized Amendment
No. 3 that allowed for an increase in the contract prices based on the Consumer Price
Index for all urban consumers for San Francisco -Oakland -San Jose, California (CPI) for
the 12 -month period ending December 31, 2019, not to exceed fide percent; and
WHEREAS, at the July 17, 2019 meeting, Council authorized Amendment No. 4
that allowed for an increase in the contract prices based on the Consumer Price Index
for all urban consumers for the 12 -month period ending December 31, 2019, not to
exceed five percent, extended the term by one year, through Jure 30, 2020 and added
$80,000, for a total contract amount of $301, 995; and
WHEREAS, the current contract includes uniforms for Facilities Services, Fleet
Services, Streets, Water/Wastewater, Community Center and Parks division employees,
as provided in the memorandums of understanding. Seat covers, rags, towels, and floor
mats used in the Fleet Services and Parks Equipment Maintenance shops are also
included in the contract; and
WHEREAS, Amendment No. 5 will extend the term of .he Agreement through
June 30, 2021 and increase the fees by $85,000, for a total contract amount of
$386,995, for additional employee uniforms and uniform changes; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing City Manager to execute Amendment
No. 5 to Contract with Cintas Corporation No. 3, of Stockton, for rental and cleaning of
uniforms for certain field and warehouse employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby
authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 5 to Contract with Cintas
Corporation No. 3, of Stockton, for rental and cleaning of uniforms for certain field and
warehouse employees; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to Section 6.3q of the City Council
Protocol Manual (adopted 11/6/19, Resolution No. 2019-223;, the City Attorney is
hereby authorized to make minor revisions to the above -referenced document(s) that do
not alter the compensation or term, and to make clerical corrections as necessary.
